The study employed the survey descriptive research design. A total of 259 responses were validated from the survey. From the responses obtained and analyzed, the findings revealed that  the extent to which women participated in the 2023 general election in Jema’a local government area of Kaduna State is high. The study thereby recommend that women should create a network of women leaders so that they would be able to share their leadership accomplishments and challenges so as to motivate other women who wish to be leaders. There is an urgent need for the modification of the present women empowerment policy to reflect the current scenario. Also,  political parties should establish a network of support for potential candidates by matching them with experienced female politicians who will serve as mentors and help young or aspiring female politicians build their capacity in order to improve and develop them in advance for future elections.
